New Year's pledge: 2010

Could not blog regularly in spite of making a promise. But henceforth, I will blog regularly - most likely on a daily basis - and that's my resolution for 2010.

Bangla Bandh

The 12-hour "Bangla Bandh" called by the BJP to protest against the hike in power tariffs has shown how irresponsible a political party can get. One can not deny that the "common man" would definitely support an agitation to protest a hike in power tariffs, but that does not warrant a Bandh (a violent one, at that).Moreover, since there was hardly any prior intimation, its the "common man" - a huge number of them - who has suffered terribly. And violence just can not be condoned no matter what the issue.
